1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MyCyberSecurityPath ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site following any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. About This Site

MyCyberSecurityPath is a free cybersecurity career guide designed for non-IT career changers. The Site is operated by Renu Sharma, a sole trader registered under an Australian Business Number (ABN), based in Australia.

The Site provides educational content including cybersecurity fundamentals, certification guides, tool tutorials, hands-on lab walkthroughs, and a blog documenting a real career change journey.

3. Use of the Site

You may access and use the Site's free educational content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content from the Site beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt file.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its servers, or any systems connected to the Site.
  • Use the Site to distribute malware, spam, or any harmful content.
  • Reproduce, redistribute, or republish Site content without prior written permission (see Intellectual Property).
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when interacting with the Site.

4. Digital Product Purchases

We sell digital products through LemonSqueezy, a third-party payment processor. The following terms apply to all purchases:

  • Products — We currently offer digital study materials including Intro to Cybersecurity for Non-IT Professionals, Cybersecurity Career Roadmap + Study Tracker, Cybersecurity Interview Guide, and bundled packages. Product offerings and prices may change at any time.
  • Pricing — All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise stated.
  • Delivery — All digital products are delivered instantly via download upon successful payment.
  • All Sales Final — Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or credits will be issued after purchase. We encourage you to download our free sample previews before purchasing to ensure the product meets your needs.
  • Payment processing — All payments are processed securely by LemonSqueezy. We do not store your payment card details. LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service apply to all transactions.

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), digital products are exempt from the standard cooling-off period once delivery has commenced with the consumer's consent. By completing your purchase, you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that your right to a cooling-off period is waived for that product. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For full details, see our Refund Policy.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, diagrams, animations, code examples, study materials, logos, and design elements — is the intellectual property of Renu Sharma and MyCyberSecurityPath, unless otherwise attributed.

  • Personal use — You may read, share links to, and print content for personal learning purposes.
  • No redistribution — You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
  • Digital products — Purchased digital products are licensed for personal use by the purchaser only. Sharing, reselling, or distributing purchased products is prohibited.
  • Attribution — If you reference our content in your own work, please provide appropriate attribution with a link back to the original page.

7. User-Generated Content

Blog comments on the Site are powered by Giscus, which uses GitHub Discussions. By commenting:

  • You retain ownership of your comment content.
  • You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your comments on the Site.
  • You agree to GitHub's Terms of Service, which govern the Discussions platform.
  • We reserve the right to remove comments that are spam, abusive, off-topic, or otherwise inappropriate.

8. Cybersecurity Content

The Site discusses cybersecurity tools, techniques, and practices for educational purposes only. By using this content, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You will only perform security testing activities on systems you own or have explicit written permission to test. Unauthorised access to computer systems is illegal under Australian law (Criminal Code Act 1995, Part 10.7) and the laws of most jurisdictions worldwide.
  • All tools and techniques are presented for defensive, educational, and authorised testing purposes only.
  • We do not provide exploit code or encourage any illegal activity.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring your activities comply with applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

9. AI Assistance Disclosure

The MyCyberSecurityPath platform is AI-assisted. The learning journey, experiences, opinions, and editorial decisions are Renu's own. The technical platform, content editing, and site development use AI tools to enhance quality and efficiency.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The content is accurate, complete, current, or error-free.
  • The Site will be available uninterrupted or free of technical issues.
  • Following our guides will result in certification exam success, employment, or any specific career outcome.
  • Any specific salary, income, or career outcome will be achieved.

Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving field. Information that is accurate today may become outdated. Always verify technical details against official documentation and current exam objectives.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Renu Sharma and MyCyberSecurityPath shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, its content, or any digital products purchased.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site or purchase of digital products shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product in question.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Australian Consumer Law.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

If you are accessing the Site from outside Australia, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws to the extent they apply.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
